Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Other points of note, in and above the offensive nature of the comments above...

  • Joe Biden supports Barack Obama's Michigan killing, onerous regulations on the auto industry... CAFE spikes that the state's largest employers claim will add thousands of dollars to the cost of each vehicle and could send one or more automakers spiraling into bankruptcy.

  • Joe Biden is A LOT smarter than you. Just ask him.

    That is all.

    Discuss.

    biden's a great choice (none / 0) (#2)
by whatever on Sat Aug 23, 2008 at 09:55:54 AM EST
i have to imagine biden's choice has the gop shakin in their boots. he is an excellent choice and will most likely eat for lunch any gop vp thrown out there.

you gotta love a guy who scant days after being elected loses his wife and young daughter in a horrible car accident but gets sworn in from the hospital bedside of his injured sons and for years and years commutes daily from his family's home to work.

his foreign policy knowledge and ethos is arguably unmatched in congress.

all you got to criticize is digging up old quotes from him made when the situation and context were much different.

and i guarantee that whomever mccain picks, there will be a mountain of old quotes to pick apart concerning the two's relationship.

    Whoever McCain picks... (none / 0) (#3)

proooobably won't have a record of statements, policy objectives and economic / environmental goals that will drive Michigan's biggest companies out of business.

. . . a primary opponent's on the record speeches against the party nominee isn't a new tactic.

Consider that, during the 1980 election cycle (when Jimmy Carter was such a widely recognized failure that the Democrat Party actually allowed Ted Kennedy to challenge him) Democrats For Reagan used a Kennedy stump speech as pro-Reagan propaganda.

Which is probably one reason among many that Romney won't be McCain's VP pick.

. . . let's pay close attention to how Joe Biden doesn't just simply act as an on-ticket devil's advocate, or shore up Barack Obama's policy weaknesses.  No, Biden's very presence on the jackass ticket takes The Chosen One completely off message!

My 19-year-old son, will be voting in November, finds this choice very hilarious.  My 17-year-old daughter, who will not be old enough to vote in November, thinks that Obama maybe subconsciously doesn't want to win.

I defer to one of my favorite quotes:  "Genius has it's limits; stupidity recognizes no such handicap."

    Biden quotes (none / 0) (#10)

Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen as saying that Biden's candidacy might be endangered by his "manic-obsessive running of the mouth."[35]

This foreshadowed Biden's January 31 remark on fellow Democratic candidate and Senator Barack Obama, frequently transcribed as, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man."[36]

However, several linguists and political analysts stated that the correct transcription includes a comma after the word "African-American", which "would significantly change the meaning (and the degree of offensiveness) of Biden's comment".[37]

Still, his comments took second place on Time magazine's list of Top 10 Campaign Gaffes for 2007.[38]

In May 2004 on "Meet the Press, Joe Biden said "I think John McCain would be a great candidate for vice president,"

This one would be a nice quote for a McCain campaign ad don't ya think?

Obama just lost the general election (none / 0) (#11)
by Victor Laszlo on Sun Aug 24, 2008 at 08:34:19 AM EST
Even I am old enough to remember that Joe Biden plagiarized Neil Kinnock's speech nearly word for word.  Also, Joe Biden "inflated" his resume regarding his college education in a previous presidential campaign.  Finally, Joe Biden is always sticking his foot in his mouth about one thing or another.

Picking Biden really undercuts Obama's argument that Washington is in need of change.  Biden is Washington insider from small state that was going Democratic this fall anway.

After Obama loses the general election, pundits will note that picking Joe Biden was a contributing factor.  I suspect that Joe Biden was picked as a compromise between the 300 or so Obama advisors with personal agendas of their own.

    Bill Richardson (none / 0) (#12)
by Ed Burley on Sun Aug 24, 2008 at 10:51:54 AM EST
Were I an advisor to Obama, I would have suggested Bill Richardson. Being a governor, he comes from outside of Washington. He's good with independents, while still following the party line on global warming. He also would help Obama with the Hispanic vote, which he lost to Hillary during the primaries.

The media is already on board defending Biden's gaffes by pointing out McCain's. Anything to get the chosen one elected, right?

The most memorable gaffe I remember of Biden's had to do with the employees at the local 7-11, and their language (Hindi?). Too funny. The GOP could just run a campaign ad of nothing but Biden's racist statements, each one followed by Obama going "uh, umm, well, uh..." It would be hilarious.

Maybe one of you creative types could create a video and put it on YouTube...I swear it would be a hoot!

    soundbites... (none / 0) (#13)

    two realities:

    1. rush and right-wing blogs drudging up quotes on biden isn't going to change one single vote. those doing the drudging and those listening to the drudging have long made up their minds on who they're going to vote for, hence the drudging. hello, mcfly!

    2. both camps will stick their foots in their mouths and have stuck their foots in their mouths.

case in point: i'm sure biden knows exactly how many homes he owns, unlike mccain. ouch!

    ;)
