Here's the skinny on the latest Michigan unemployment numbers. Numbers Dan Dickerson and Jim Price might refer to as "crooked."

But first, allow me to congratulate Andy Dillon, Mark Schauer, Jennifer Granholm, John Cherry, Bob Dean, Mary Valentine, Mike Simpson, Marty Griffin, Kate Ebli and the whole billion-dollar-plus tax hike team on a job well done. We figured they were trying to kill the economy when they raised taxes by a full 10 figures last year and sure enough, we're bleeding out pretty good right now.

So, without further ado...

National Unemployment Rate (May): 5.5%
Michigan Unemployment Rate (May): 8.5%

Increase over April (US): .5%
Increase over April (Michigan): 1.6%

Increase over May 2007 (US): 1%
Increase over May 2007 (Michigan): 1.4%

Unemployed members of Michigan workforce: 428,000

Increase in unemployed members of MI workforce (April to May): 82,000

Jobs lost LAST MONTH in Michigan (total employment): 56,000

Jobs outsourced to Mexico (or China) by Electrolux (May): 0

Amount of success the Granholm / House Democrat tax hikes had in creating jobs: 0

of all those no longer collecting unemployment checks. My guess the number will be around 10%-12%. Lets not forgoet either out of the 17000 plus buyouts from GM, half 6500 are from Michigan. Half 3250 of the 6500 left GM are likely to move out of state, poll numbers heard on the radio.

I actually enjoy seeing Governor Granholm's reputation going down the toilet. Clearly, Ms. Granholm is the most incompetent Governor in Michigan's history. One can blame John Engler for only so long, but after six years such excuses are undisputedly unsupported by the facts.

Remember when everyone was whispering about amending the Constitution to allow foreign born nationals to be elected President so that Granholm could possibly run for President? Not anymore! In fact, Granholm is the poster idiot for not amending the Constitution.
