According to OpenSecrets.org the likely Democrat nominee spent nearly $29 million last month alone.  The math actually breaks out to more than $932,000 a day!  If you go all the way back to the start of the campaign the fundraising and spending numbers are simply staggering.

The man spent nearly $184,000,000 communicating to voters across the country!  That's more than any other candidate in the race.  Actually, that's more than most of the candidates combined.

Not that I'm knocking it.  A lot of the kids on the left hate the idea that there's money in politics.  Heck, John McCain hates the fact that there's any cash involved too.  The man led the effort to scuttle the Constitution by killing your right to political speech.  But the reality is everyone spends.  McCain spends.  Hillary spends.  Obama spends.

It's how they communicate their important messages to the voters.  It's how they tell everyday Americans what they think and why they think it.  Campaign spending is one of the primary tools they use to impress upon you your importance to their efforts... their campaigns for change and hope and yadda yadda yadda.  The more they spend per capita, typically, the more important they believe you are.

And, bonus, the millions they pump into a state provides a nice little buoy to the regional economy!

So juts for the heck of it let's take a gander at Obama's campaign spending here in Michigan.  Maybe it'll help us get a sense of how important he feels Michigan voters are these days.  For how much he cares about our economy and our struggle to recover.  

And because I don't want anyone to accuse me of using skewed post-primary numbers to make a partisan point I'm going to go back and include all of the man's campaign spending here in Michigan since his last visit low those many months ago.
