259 Days and Counting... Whenever You're Ready, Barack

Just in case you were counting, it's now been 259 Days since Senator Barack Obama put shoe to pavement here in the State of Michigan. Which sounds like a rather long time between visits. Until you break the number down a little bit. Then it sounds like a really, really long time.

It's been 6,216 hours since Obama last cared to speak to a Michigander. That's 372,960 minutes. 22,377,600 seconds.

Since that fateful day way back in July of 2007 there have been over 3,025,000 new babies born in the United States and over 90,000 births in Michigan alone. That's 90,000 new citizens of the State of Michigan since the last time the Democrats likely nominee last darkened our proverbial door.

But that's not all...

Tens of thousands of moms and dads have lost their jobs.

Michigan government shutdown for the first time... ever.

Michigan Democrats foisted a $2.5 billion tax hike on Michigan families.

The New England Patriots held a training camp, a pre-season, won eighteen straight games and went to the Superbowl.

The Giants won the Superbowl.

The Red Sox won the World Series.

There was a protracted writers strike in Hollywood.

Michigan held a Presidential Primary.

The Democrat National Committee threw out our legally held and certified election results.

Transformers was the big hit at the theatre last time the man was here.

Oh, and other Presidential campaigns? Since Barack Obama last deemed Michigan moms and dads worthy of his precious time Senator John McCain has made thirty-four campaign stops.

Heck, Mitt Romney made thirty-five.

Mike Huckabee made six.

Ron Paul managed to find the time to visit on five different occasions.

Duncan Hunter swung by nine different times.

Even Fred Thompson, the candidate almost universally regarded as being too "lazy" for the campaign trail, squeezed us in twice.

And let's not forget... the RNC stripped Michigan of half our delegates too. And well before the primary on January 15th. Didn't stop the GOP field. Because Michigan is that important, Senator Obama.
