MSEA MEMBERS: DO NOT REPORT TO WORK ON MONDAY IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED ANY KIND OF LAYOFF NOTIFICATION--EITHER WRITTEN OR VERBAL! SAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION. PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT MSEA WILL STAND BY OUR CONTRACT AND WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO PROTECT THE MEMBERS.
"As I sit in the MSEA office on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, I have been pondering the developing state budget crisis. I see distrust and a feeling of doom at the Capitol. As your President, I must react in the best interests of MSEA. And I will. Whatever happens, we will get through this crisis. Whatever your feelings about the Legislature and Governor Granholm, please take a moment and say a prayer for them because they will be judged by the people of Michigan and by history. We must endure and go on. I feel blessed to be able to live in this great country and in the great State of Michigan."
