The press conference took place at Tri-Tec Seal, a manufacturing plant in Swartz Creek. The owner of Tri-Tec says he may need to move out of Michigan to keep his business afloat, if Granholm's budget proposal were to be adopted. During the press conference Saul outlines three or four of his solutions to the budget crisis.

One interesting idea, which is being supported by Senate Majority Leader Mike Biship, is Medicaid reform and cuts.

Saul's Solutions:

Competitive bidding of teacher healthcare savings of $422 million without cutting benefits,

Eliminating double dipping of pensions and salary by state employees, saving at least $2 million,

Reforming Medicaid to give incentives for healthier living, saving $240 million,

Keeping state departments within their allotted budgets, not allowing overspending, saving $69.1 million,

Mandating a 10% across the board cut in operations for every state department, saving at least $26 million.
