DetNews reports that GM has decided to pull their SuperBowl ad featuring a robot who gets laid off from his factory job and commits suicide.

Pressure was mounting to pull the ad when The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention began an official and public protest.

If you ask me the ad was clearly in bad taste, and I'm not talking about the way it ends.

The real question is what does it say about Michigan-based General Motors?  They've closed so many plants and laid off so many workers here in the state that now they're firing robots?

No word yet on whether or not governor Granholm will offer the robot (or the creators of the advertisement) a free community college education.

Instead of college, why not give it the governor's job!
