You bring up an excellent point right here:

I brought up a similar question to several people who were aghast at the fact that I disagreed with the government having any role whatsoever in "gay" marriage (or for that matter, marriage period).
I got called "closed-minded", "bigot", yadda yadda yadda.
That tactic doesn't work on me.
I'm a truck driver. I get called worse multiple times throughout a day.
But I calmly asked them this question: So you will find a church that will recognize your marriage. Good for you both.
Now, how will you go about "persuading" other churches that do not, to do the same?
