The democrats are still p.o.'d and might not go along regardless of what bones they are thrown.

Good thing that majority advantage actually means something.

As for getting it past the voters?

That's another long-shot right there.

Granted that a number of tax hikes made it through the August ballot, with more are on-tap for November.

But locally, the vibe that I'm getting is that people have had enough.
