That's not the interesting part.

The interesting part was that they had a republican legislator (right now his name escapes me) defending spending the money, while a democratic legislator (ditto) was in favor of putting off this "necessary" expenditure for at least a year.

The republican claimed that it's all part of the "necessary" upkeep of the Capitol.

Here's what is wrong with his logic:

• Leaking roof...okay.

• Broken plumbing...I'll give you that, too.

• Worn out and leaking windows...they had better not be after begin replaced as recently as they were.

• Worn out carpeting so that you can preserve you sense of vanity and entitlement...not even close!
