      . . . that you've just linked to MCL 168.572, which clearly permits ballot stickers, the question then becomes why the executive ban is in place.  If it's because said stickers will foul the voting machines, then don't expect Ruth to lift it.  Otherwise . . .

      . . . I spoke with TLL a couple of weekends back about this, and was informed that the "no stickers" ban is an executive decision based on complaints from the manufacturer of the optical-scan voting machines that are pretty much the Michigan standard.  While Ruth can indeed overturn the executive decision if she should so choose, the consequences for doing could be prohibitively . . . sticky.
