She is the poster child of the majority rules myth as it has been so long applied to America at large and the more local of governments.  

This country was founded to protect the rights of the minority against the tyranny of those elected to positions of power.  It recognized God-given and inalienable rights as self-evident--so obvious that even the accursed and power hungry among us would recognized their divinity.  

Rule of law is not something that will ever dissuade those of Ms. Conyers' ilk from seeking their own socialist utopia (with a little graft on the side,) and will never be respected by the tyrants among us.  

Much of today's urban political movement, of which both Conyerses are a part, is ensconced in "the talented tenth" principle, a phrase coined by W.E.B. DuBois many years ago that basically just reworked an old Communist canard.  The talented tenth would lead and the rest would simply have to fall in line behind the vision.  

Thankfully we still have enough law left so that we can enjoy the occasional "perp walk."  I hope that we can nurture a new generation of conservatives to protect against these sorts of tyrants.  Otherwise it could end up that we are the ones in a detention camp.
