      giving up the next round of tax increases when the Michigan GOP gives up a majority in the near or not-to-distant future.

      We didn't need the pension tax. What's needed instead is for an actual long term solution of going through the entire budget - the actual budget, not just the 8-9 Billion in discretionary funding. 83% of the budget isn't touched due to either federal reasons or State Constitutional reasons. Both are copouts and these matters need to be addressed or we are going to have the same problems year after year budgetwise because everyone is fighting over 17% of the budget.
