      The new district is not more democrat.  It is actually about 1% more Republican than the old district.

      MI-05: Dale Kildee (D-Flint)
      Old District: Obama 63.7, McCain 34.7, GOP avg. 43%
      New District: 63.0, McCain 35.4, GOP avg. 44%

      The district about D+5.  It would be tough to win, but if the democrats nominate someone like Woodrow Stanley, we would have a chance.  Here is my profile of the district.

      I believe that Slezak should be given a chance to make his case.  He was elected in 2008 by beating a democrat incumbent who he criticized for raising taxes.

      He has received criticism for supporting the restaurant smoking ban, however.
