For what my opinion is worth, the term limits amendment to the Michigan Constitution (for either state or federal offices) isn't structured properly anyway.  I've long held that it ought to be 12-in / 4-out . . . period.  None of this house-to-senate-to-AG/SOS-to-governor crap, you get 12 consecutive years in (never mind how you combine them) and then you get benched for four years.  If you did a good job during the time you were in, then the people get to reward you with a fresh 12-year clock after some cool-off time; otherwise, the people get to continue to keep you out of office (and remain grateful that term limits forced you out in the first place).
