How about we end all subsidies for corn ethanol,  peanuts, etc., etc., etc.  (ADM and Jimmy Carter will survive just fine without them.)

Stop subsidizing the post office and Amtrak.  If they cannot operate profitably the free market will be glad to step in or pronounce them dead to usefulness.  

Pare back the FDA about 90 percent.  Their patenting procedure kills more people off than it ever saves and has encouraged the costs of medical care to reach unaffordable levels for scores of millions of Americans.  

Sell about ten million acres of land for starters.  Get this property off the sidelines to where it can begin to produce tax dollars and mineral wealth.

End most foreign aid and stop protecting countries overseas that loathe our presence.  

Repeal Davis-Bacon.  Why do the taxpayers have to be screwed when paying for infrastructure?  

And entitlements?  Please.  Make the cuts now before the rest of us are left with nothing to show for the 15% of payroll we've been paying in for years.  This current debt ceiling amounts to a drop in the bucket when compared to this country's unfunded liabilities.  What are things going to look like if we don't make the necessary changes?
