I'll tell you this from the vantage point of a shareholder that decided to place faith in Mr. Mulally's business acumen with purchasing 35,000 shares of Ford back in February '09 that today I hold absolutely zero issue with his compensation nor suspicion of soundness in any Ford Motor Company desire to be at the forefront of manufacturing in their next 100 years and beyond.

J.D. Power and Associates identified other ICE improvements, such as variable valve timing, cylinder deactivation, and start-stop technology. Together these technology improvements could result in a 40% reduction in oil use, according to the NAS. The newest generation diesel engines, although more expensive than ICEs, could also increase miles-per-gallon efficiency by 30% or more.
