      I'm not sure, but I don't remember Granholm resisting Republican efforts like this.

      LSJ story from Dec. 2:

      "Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder vetoed his first piece of legislation today after 11 months in office.

      Snyder vetoed a bill passed by the Republican Legislature that would prohibit state agencies from enacting regulations with standards that exceed federal regulations."

      ....

      "Ari Adler, a spokesman for House Speaker Jase Bolger, R-Marshall, said House Bill 4326 would still allow for stricter regulations. It would just require that such rules be approved by the Legislature, rather than enacted administratively by state bureaucrats."
