Since "placing our trust in God to guide decision makers" is always a good thing, then logically all public office holders should be required to pass a religious test. (Otherwise they'd tend to be amoral socialists, spending money the government didn't have, misleading people with false promises to get elected, getting their staff pregnant, etc..) Should it be part of the filing requirement, a written test for instance? Or would it be better handled by a religion commission to impartially examine all the candidates? Would any religion do, or would it have to be a popular one? I'm sure there must be other countries in the world that do this sort of thing- we could learn from their example, and enjoy the resulting benefits. After all, if religion is good, then it should be proclaimed as an official part of government. That's perfectly obvious, isn't it?
