When I asked The Detroit Free Press' Stephen Henderson about why all of the candidates were not invited to the gubernatorial debates, he engaged in a set of verbal gymnastics about people, protocols and polling that was a sight to behold.

Michigan's self-proclaimed election "watchdog", The Center for Michigan and their "Truth Squad", flat out ignored my repeated requests for an answer.

I know that the Libertarians, Natural Law and Greens usually field a candidate for governor. But, if it wasn't for Wendy Day putting together a website highlighting our choices, I wouldn't have been made aware that the US Taxpayers/Constitution Party was even fielding a candidate last year.

This isn't as much of a matter of these groups getting their message out, those responsible for reporting the news have decided among themselves just who is and is not "newsworthy".
