    "...they should be pushing back. These companies must begin to take a serious stand for freeing themselves of tyranny. Why they don't have a choice now is because they made deals in the beginning. They sold out...and together with the unions, they made out."

    I really don't see how you can fault Ford - and to a lesser extent GM and Chrysler - for labor laws that were enacted during the Roosevelt administration.

    Simply put, Alan Mulally is working with the hand he was dealt and making decisions that are best for the company and it's shareholders. Mulally and Co. would love for nothing more than to be rid of the UAW tomorrow, but they realize that's a battle that would likely bankrupt the company. Expecting a CEO to take up an ideological fight that would drag the company through the mud and potentially bankrupt it is ludicrous. No sane business executive is going to take up that fight.
