    That shill you're speaking of is Dick Ranney, the long-time president of the Michigan branch of the American Motorcycle Association.  Dick doesn't work for Sheltrown and he isn't a Democrat.  Dick's the guy that lead the effort to open county roads in northern Michigan to ORVs following the passage of Sheltrown's PA 240 which gave counties the ability to do that.  Some counties previously allowed ORVs to ride on their roads but were told they could not through an AG opinion issued by Mike Cox.

    As far as the Democratic Socialist fees go, in the 2008 lame duck session, Sheltrown voted against two bills increasing the fees on snowmobiles.  He voted "no" on the fee increases because snowmobile registrations have been dropping quickly.  One of those two bills increasing the fees was sponsored by Jason Allen.  These fee increases passed the Republican controlled Senate with only 1 no vote (Cassis).  In the House, Sheltrown voted with most Republicans against the increases.  The bills are SB 1489 and SB 1490 of 2008.
