      Yah, that'd be one consideration.

      J-man, I think we're on the same page.

      I believe in contract, I believe in liability, and i believe in actionable offenses such as fraud, or theft being prosecuted.

      However, as seen above, many unseen consequences can and do exist without order of law even with licensed folk.  For me, I still don't have issue with the following.

      "to prohibit a person from earning money as a carpenter on a commercial structure or as a carpentry contractor unless he or she is granted a state license.

      It's not that much to ask.  As for "casual", "handyman", "wood butcher", pick your label... as long as the aforementioned is under supervision, they have the ability to work.

      To qualify for a license a carpenter would need to have at least 6,000 hours of experience over at least four years under the direct supervision of a licensed carpenter contractor. "
