Expecting voters to blindly support a candidate strictly because of party affiliation is one of the main causes of the Republican losses in '06 & '08, along with Coakley's defeat last week.

What is needed here are candidates who have a philosophy that resonates well with the electorate, can communicate it effectively to them and have the wherewithal to stick with it if elected.

Politicians who expand government in any way. Supporting tax increases. Infringing on the rights that we enjoy as Americans, and then turn around and expecting people to look the other way on election day because they are not from the "other party".
