      The last two sentences are quite telling:  She maintained moral authority...and then she was fired.  Perhaps those of us who "think politically" recognize this far too well; perhaps we recognize it because it stands out as different against the background of compromise and pragmatism that define many of those whom we watch in the political arena.  

      I generally don't like beauty pageants, for a variety of reasons; but I can certainly appreciate someone who won't compromise her righteous beliefs to please the unrighteous.
