      Where are the people who are choosing to be gay one day and not the next? Where are the people getting better jobs because they are gay? If being gay was a choice, why would kids being harassed in high school for being gay choose to stay that way?

      If the state was to follow your logic, we should end civil rights protection for people based on their religion. People change their religious beliefs all the time. You also can't always tell a person's religious beliefs based on their appearance. Getting rid of civil rights protection for people based on their religion would "move towards equality for everyone", wouldn't it?
