Regardless of party, we're all better off in a two party system where each political party has the potential to regain control. It provides a system of checks that doesn't exist in states with one dominant party. In my opinion, this is why Michigan has largely been free of the corruption that occurs in other state governments.

The bottom line is that it is not in the interest of centrists in the Democratic Party to have a Republican Party that is no longer a factor in Michigan politics.
