    I think it can be done.  It just takes work, and a candidate who is willing to be true to himself (or herself, as the case may be) not special interests whether they be Evangelical, black, women, latino, or what have you.  It takes work, for the candidate to portray a clear concise message.  And it takes work for the voter to do all the researching of the candidate they can.  
    By no means do I think Conservatives should reach out to liberals, unless to win them over and tell them the truth, but not pretend to be like them.
    I have talked to many non-voters and many have conservative trains of thought, they have just been jaded on the carbon copies of politics as usual, from either side.
    I admit to being too analytical.  So thus I go through everything with a fine tooth comb.  Probably the German in me ;) .  So I get jaded on internet and snail mailings about candidates where his qualifications is "he's married to his sweetheart of umpteen years, coach to his kids' soccer team, likes hunting and finishing, and by the way..."  I want the "oh by the ways" first.  
    As to Mr. Lennox's post about more women candidates.  I think that women would be great candidates for fiscal conservatives.  Who does the shopping in a married household?  Women.  Even when we are not married, women are generally better at bargain shopping.  We know how to stretch a dollar.  Think about what you will find in a single woman's fridge compared to a single man's.  Women have the four food groups and ingredient type food.  Bachelors, usually but not always, have pre-made food, which is more expensive.
