      we should probably take away the home mortgage interest deduction, charitable deduction and child deductions off of federal income taxes also then.  Because that seems to be too much government intervention in the housing market, in private charities and in the procreation of children.  We should also oppose vouchers since that would be a giveaway to private schools.  Why should the federal government subsidize my mortgage payment by allowing me to deduct interest?  Why should the federal government subsidize the Salvation Army by allowing me to deduct my contribution?  Why should the federal government subsidize local and state government by allowing me deduct property taxes and state income taxes?
