Ideally, the proper way to look at health insurance is for the catastrophic. The rest is mostly taken care of out of pocket (which would have more in it if gov't took it's hand out of it). Sounds strange in today's socialist climate though.

Due gov't mandates, insurance companies have to provide things that the insured doesn't need or want: I'd chose not to be covered by all the mental health and substance abuse stuff. Also, all the coverage for people who are finished with reproductive issues.
