First off in regards to A Conservative Teacher, you talk about the "old same-old moderates". You mention that they're the ones keeping the party from winning elections. This is humorous as you previously were pinning the losses in November on libertarians and other true conservatives. Which is it? The stodgy old neo-cons for making the libertarians vote Libertarian/third party or the libertarians for actually voting Libertarian/third party?

    As for Conservababble:
Having the government regulate fuel economy standards in the first place is bad. However, I would much rather have stuff like that be implemented on the state level. Ignoring the fact that something like this is a 10th Amendment issue, there's also the fact that getting crap legislation changed on a state level is going to be a lot easier to do than getting changes at the federal level.

Let California set higher standards. Let the idiot legislators and that RINO Arnold pass legislation that will drive up the cost of production for those states.

Of course a comeback might be "Well they will just up the cost for everyone and produce the higher economy cars nationwide". Well, maybe, maybe not. I can tell you that there are two firearms companies in existence that will not sell to California, private or government. It would be a huge incentive to not produce cars for those states like CA if it meant they could get a significant gain in market share due to price difference.
