Where is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY (none / 0) (#5)

No one was forced to buy more house than they could afford.  No one was forced to buy a house, period.  Just because you can do something doesn't mean you can, and doesn't mean everyone else should bail you out if you get it wrong.

When we bought a house, we figured out what the maximum was we could afford if it all went to h*ll and we both ended up working at McDonald's.  That is how much house we bought.  PERIOD.  I've watched a number of people lose their homes that bought more house than they could afford and then used them like ATM's to buy boats and SUV's and spend like there was no tomorrow.  Now not only do I have to pay to bail them out, my property values have plummeted as a result of declining property values because of all the foreclosures.
