    Gambling is actually a negative-sum game for the player and positive sum game for the casino.

    Interestingly though, Democrats want to ban smoking in places where everyone in the market agrees to it and tax it, so where is the Democrat love for the free market.

    Regardless, I have no issue with deregulation of marijuana as long as common-sense is applied.

    Again, casino profits are not "assured" - but they are statistically nearly assured over time.  Even from the players' perspective, it could be argued though he obtains value (entertainment, or value derived from a curved risk-favoring mentality) and casinos also provide an atmosphere and other services beyond mere gambling.  That said, I've only ever placed one $20 bet in a casino, and that was just to say I did it.
