    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Its amazing how some writers, pundits, or analysts completely miss the point when offering up their wordy utterances for public consumption.

The recognition that Obama 'ain't the guy' somehow has begun to worm its way into the rotting brain matter of liberal journalists, and given the Soros cold shoulder recently, its not a surprise.  Substantive understanding however, of the problems we face is not necessarily shown when such authors as Jonathan Capehart at the WAPO have THIS to say:

"Focusing on Obama's personnel, we agreed that the president needed to widen his circle of confidants beyond his Chicago security blanket. "He needs a governor," my friend said. My perfect candidates: Ed Rendell (D-Pa.) and Jennifer Granholm (D-Mich.). "

Hello?  McFly?  Let us in the great lakes state of Michigan point something out to you.  Granholm was Obama, BEFORE Obama was Obama..

But never let THAT stop a plan from unfolding..

Stopping an extreme labor payback agenda with an abuse of our transportation department?  Well played leader Bishop.

Mike Bishop's office on Thursday said it will not come up for a vote.  What is it?

A $5.5 Billion dollar expense to taxpayers that has big labor and government special interest finger marks all over it.  Its the approval of legislation that would ultimately approve the building of a new bridge between Detroit and Windsor.  Its the approval of a process which again pits government against business.  Business which has already been serving the needs of travelers quite adequately.

    Its the DRIC Boondoggle.

A new turn of events on this?

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the OCDP because it represents the faith that so many Oakland County Democrats have in the strength of our campaign," Benson said.  "I intend to continue the journey toward the Democratic convention this August and hope to affirm their faith in me and the progressive agenda for election reform I represent for Michigan."

Friday the worst governor in America, Michigan's very own Jennifer Granholm, used state IT resources (and her weekly address) to broadcast a thinly veiled campaign commercial in an effort to give Michigan's House Democrats cover for their vote in favor of ObamaCare. Via the State Of Michigan web site:

We as taxpayers just spent About $113,000 per job created in Michigan.

That is the hard fact of what it took to get a battery plant built here to provide 3300 new jobs.  Never mind the NEED for those jobs, or whether the new green economy demands it enough to make it PAY FOR ITSELF.  It is the cost of having business DO BUSINESS in Michigan it seems, and no amount of common sense ought to dissuade our dear leaders from paying that price right?

And that price per job, is only if all goes well.

As we have seen by recent events, the MEDC record for picking winners is not even as accurate as my dog's method of identifying visitors.  Never mind the trickle into the Michigan economy from these new jobs cannot offset the cost in taxes paid to make it possible.  And Never mind the very people who are running the taxpayer supported operation say they haven't been profitable.. yet:

In a filing with the SEC, the company stated: "We have never been profitable. ...We have a history of losses, and we may be unable to achieve or sustain profitability."

The company was founded in 2001 and announced its lithium-ion battery system in 2005. Since then, A123 states that it had net losses of $31 million in 2007, $80.5 million in 2008, and $86.6 million for 2009. Furthermore, it had negative cash flow of $56.1 million in 2007, $76 million in 2008 and $114.7 million in 2009.

With Michigan's cost alone being $125,0000,000.00, one must wonder about what worms are working their way through the mushy skulls of Michigan's leadership to allow such things to continue.

Rick Snyder Is Picking Up Granholm's Green Energy Mantle

While researching for a 'Green Energy' post at motorcitytimes.com I ran across this policy blurb from Rick "Don't Call Me Jenny" Snyder:

Rick Snyder is the right leader to help protect the environment while growing the economy.

As a member of the board of trustees of the Michigan Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, Rick has gained great insight into the issues facing Michigan and the role that the state should play in the Great Lakes Region. As an entrepreneur, Rick understands how to quickly and efficiently transfer technology from the classroom to the marketplace, which will help protect Michigan's environment and create "green collar" jobs.

It's like Granholm all over again.

~ Promoted for good argument ~

I'm sure glad Michigan has Rick Snyder as our Republican candidate for Governor. If we are fortunate enough to have the 'Tough Nerd' at the helm of the State, we can make a clean break from the failed economic policies of the worst Governor in America, Jennifer Granholm...
