Michigan Congressmen need to pay attention.  Its all over for Republicans if Obamacare is allowed to continue.  Understand this. The two senators in these videos are worthy of emulation.

From yet another electioneering press release:

WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following comments regarding the U.S. House of Representatives' passage of H.R. 2009, Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013.  H.R. 2009 would bar the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from implementing or enforcing any component of President Obama's health care law.  Miller said:

"Over the past several months, I have heard from many of my constituents who are very concerned that soon they will have to turn over much of their most private health care information to the IRS as a result of ObamaCare.  I believe that concern is justified.

"The American people have been jolted by recent revelations of wrong doing within the IRS, which has diminished their faith and confidence in this powerful federal agency.  The IRS has admitted that they had singled out specific groups for extra scrutiny simply because of the political beliefs held by those groups.  Since these revelations came to light, two senior IRS officials have hidden behind the protections of the 5th Amendment to shield from American taxpayers, who pay their salaries, the facts about their wrongdoing.  Giving this discredited government agency even more authority to enact various provisions of the ObamaCare law, and giving the IRS more power over our daily lives by putting them at the center of some of the most personal and private decisions made by American families, is simply unacceptable.

"The American people do not have the necessary faith needed in the IRS to ensure the agency fairly and prudently enforces this massive takeover of our health care system and be entrusted with unprecedented access to people's most personal information.  I believe that the IRS through its own actions has made clear that it cannot be trusted with this new role.  That is why I cosponsored a simple, two-page bill, H.R. 2900 - The Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act.  This bill takes away the authority of the Secretary of Treasury to enforce any aspect of ObamaCare.

"Instead of giving the IRS more power and authority over the American people, this bill takes that power away.  I am pleased to say that I voted in favor of this important legislation and that it passed the House.  Now it is time for the Senate to act and protect the privacy of every American's private health care information."

Will the president sign this?

No he won't.

Seriously, just defund all those agencies and mandates.

Dr Benishek, you may not have realized it, but the minute that fat digit put its pressure on my breastbone and the words "We don't control the spending" came out, you lost a hell of a lot of respect and support from this concerned (and informed) citizen.  I have thought long and hard on how to broach this subject since our convention discussion.  Could it be that you do not understand your role as a congressman, and the powers vested in you and the house of representatives?  Perhaps you still do not understand that the power of the purse is yours, but Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 is clear.

"No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time."

"The Appropriations Clause is the cornerstone of Congress's "power of the purse." It assigns to Congress the role of final arbiter of the use of public funds. The source of Congress's power to spend derives from Article I, Section 8, Clause 1. The Appropriations Clause provides Congress with a mechanism to control or to limit spending by the federal government. The Framers chose the particular language of limitation, not authorization, for the first part of the clause and placed it in Section 9 of Article I, along with other restrictions on governmental actions to limit, most notably, executive action.

Peter Konetchy, a Republican from Roscommon in Michigan's 4thCongressional District, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives. He notes the failure of Camp's years in the US Congress to resolve a growing federal interference in our lives.

"We no longer have the limited, constitutional government that was created to serve the needs of the states. Decades of federal interference have stifled our economic growth, forced our jobs overseas, bankrupted our nation, destroyed the financial security of our families, and severely eroded our personal freedoms. Unless we take corrective action now, we will lose the greatest nation ever conceived, wasted the blood of generations who fought to retain our liberties, and condemned our posterity to a life of financial and civic servitude."

Badly enough to risk Michigan manufacturing jobs as I have pointed out before:

"Its a sure bet Michigan jobs will go away in certain parts of the upper peninsula, and given the backhanded way in which the current white house occupiers pee where they eat, it is likely not an isolated concern.¹ A billion here, a billion there.  Hardly any pressure on the working stiffs when those costs are passed along.

Right?"

Congress had already done its snow job pre-2010 election however. And today, President Obama will unveil his plan to bypass Congress to force a radical climate change plan which will have devastating ramifications for Michiganders.

Campaign for Liberty President John Tate today thanked Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI) for signing Congressman Thomas Massie's (R-KY) letter in strong opposition to the Internet Sales Tax and urged him to continue to fight against new taxes on businesses and consumers as the battle moves to the House of Representatives:

"It is good to see Congressman Amash take a strong stance against the job-destroying Internet Tax Mandate," said C4L President John Tate. "I hope the citizens of Michigan can continue to count on Congressman Amash to fight against tax increases and burdensome regulations on small businesses. I urge Congressman Amash to encourage his fellow representatives from Michigan, to join the fight against tax increases, as well."

All of Michigan's Republicans stepped up to the plate to 'repeal' the 'affordable' health care act, with a couple of them making sure you know they did. It marks the third time the House has voted to fully repeal this law since 2011. Rep Tim Walberg (R-CD7) voted in favor of H.R. 45 to repeal the President's health care law, and said the following:

"The reality of Obamacare is millions of Americans losing access to their current health care coverage, job destroying tax hikes and mandates, and massive health insurance premium increases.  This government takeover of health care will hurt families, hurt small businesses, hurt retirees, and hurt Americans seeking to find work in our tough economy, so I voted today to repeal it.  I support common sense, patient-centered solutions such as ending lawsuit abuse, expanding the flexibility of medical savings accounts, and allowing the purchase of insurance across state lines, that will truly make health care more affordable and help families."

Fred Upton (R-CD6) heads the Energy and Commerce committee, which uses the platform to examine the costs of Obamacare (and actually uses THAT Name for it, which I find inappropriate and strange)as reported by insurers.

Candace Miller (R-CD10) referencing previous appropriations efforts alongside the repeal vote says:

"There is nothing more personal to each and every American than their health care and their relationship with their doctor.  And no issue is more important to each and every American than having a growing economy and job security.  Today the House acted for the 37th time to repeal ObamaCare because it puts at risk the doctor-patient relationship and it will destroy jobs and put countless others at risk.

To make matters even worse, last Friday the IRS admitted that it unfairly and improperly targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny by using purely political motives for conducting their duties to enforce the tax code.  So now because of ObamaCare every American will not only have to submit all private information about their income and earnings to the IRS, they now will also now have to supply their most private health information to a government agency that currently does not have the trust of the American people.

ObamaCare has a myriad of fatal flaws that call for one action - the full repeal. The House has once again acted to get this job done and now if the Senate will join us we can get to work on a replacement to ObamaCare that has patient-centered reforms focused on protecting the doctor-patient relationship instead of putting it at risk, reducing costs instead of raising them, expanding access to care for all Americans instead of putting current care at risk, and finally creating jobs instead of destroying jobs."

And Dave Camp (R-CD4) listed a few reasons a couple days ago why repeal is a good plan.

Camp (R-Midland), and Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, made the following statement upon announcement that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Acting Commissioner Steve Miller would resign effective early June.

"The American people should be able to trust and have faith that, not only the IRS, but that the tax code will treat them fairly.  This resignation does nothing to change the culture of discrimination at the IRS.  And, it certainly does nothing to change the fact that the tax system is targeting honest, hardworking taxpayers instead of working for them.  There are still far too many unanswered questions and until we know what truly happened, we cannot fully fix what is wrong.  This Committee wants the facts, and the American people deserve answers to why they were targeted on the basis of their political beliefs.  The IRS has demonstrated a culture of cover up and has failed time and time again to be completely open and honest with the American people.  This investigation will continue so Congress can ensure that no taxpayer is unfairly targeted.

"The Committee and the American people deserve honest answers from Mr. Miller at our hearing this Friday."
