    NPV - Follow the Money

The following information was gathered by Debbie Joslin, National Committeewoman
     from Alaska, Republican National Committee

Mr. John Koza is the Chairman of National Popular Vote. According to Saul Anuzis, a consultant/lobbyist employed by NPV, Koza has spent $12 million on NPV. Who is he? He has twice served as an elector for California and voted for Bill Clinton and Al Gore in that capacity. He is a big giver to campaigns: Last year he gave $10,000 to Jerry Brown for governor, this year Nancy Pelosi Victory fund $32,500, the DNC $9,800, $27,500 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Sounds like someone we can trust, right?

NPV announced in February of this year that Tom Golisano would be joining their board. Saul Anuzis admitted during a recent debate that Mr. Golisano has spent $30 million promoting NPV and hiring lobbyists and consultants. What kind of man is Mr. Golisano? To find out, look no further than his political contributions:

In 2008 he gave $1 million to the DNC. Golisano has not been as generous to federal level candidates but of the money he HAS given it is worth noting WHO he gave to: 2004 $2000 Dick Gephardt, D-MO; and John Kerry $2000; and in 2010 he gave money to Charlie Crist, independent candidate for US Senate from Florida.

Barry Fadem, President of NPV has donated money to Democratic PACs (ACTBLUE), Friends of Barbara Boxer, EMILY's List and John Kerry.

Chris Pearson, Secretary of NPV, served in 2005, as Director of the Presidential Election Reform program at Fair Vote (formerly the Center for Voting and Democracy).  Mr. Pearson served in the Vermont House in the Progressive Party (left of the Dems).

Stephen M Silberstein is also on the NPV Board. He has given generously to the DNC and liberal candidates.

The Stephen M. Silberstein Foundation gave $100,000 in 2003 to Media Matters through the Tide Foundation.

    2007 $26,700 to the DNC
2009 $30,400 to Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
    2009 $2000 Robin Carnahan for Senate, D-MO
2010 $1000 Mark Udall for US Senate, D-Co
    2010 $1000 to Congressman David Wu D-OR
2011 $1500 to Barbara Lee for Congress, D-CA (former co-chair of the progressive caucus)
Other campaigns Silberstein has donated to are:
Friends of Barbara Boxer, Friends of Bernie Sanders, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, People for Patty Murray, Friends of Byron Dorgan, and Woolsey for Congress.

Saul Anuzis admitted during a recent debate that Jonathan Soros has donated $3 million dollars to NPV directly. Soros is also a big supporter of FairVote, an organization that funnels money to NPV.
