We did not arrive at this point overnight.

I am frankly tickled that it is even being talked about.  I cannot recall any time in my.. umm young life where this has happened.

We ARE making a difference.  Just give these guys the RIGHT kind of support and backing, and call out the problems when you see them happening.

    Keep talking.

I'm not a staff member of someone in Congress... (none / 0) (#9)

...nor inside Speaker Boehner's head, so I honestly cannot tell you exactly what their course of action here would be.

Based upon what was released and said so far, I'm leaning towards a combination of the two: defunding and outright repeal.

Remember, the last Congress did not create a budget for FY 10-11. They are operating on continuation budgets with the next one expiring (if memory serves) in February.

They can start with defunding everything that doesn't pass the Constitutional Authority provision, and then follow up by repealing programs/agencies one at a time.

This gives the GOP a literally once in a lifetime opportunity to follow through with a promise it made.

To address Jason's point, my posts were not a slam at the Cong. Rogers. If I have an issue with someone, I'll be a lot more direct. My posts were more of a suggestion to him and others in Congress (or most likely, their staffers who will read this) on how to literally kill two birds with one stone (cut spending and having the gov't functions align more closely with the Constitution).
