    the editor of the Montmorency County Tribune by phone a short while ago. He advised that the article was based upon a compilation of information that he had received and assigned to a reporter to develope the article. He advised that the specific statement about the 60% increase per month ($77.00/month) came from a press release from the Michigan Environmental Council which apparently compiled those numbers from information it received from the Public Service Commission. The Tribune prints most letters it receives. I would be happy to submit a letter refuting the Michigan Environmental Council numbers if someone can give me accurate and verifiable information to use to rebut.

    This also points to a larger issue I've noticed in my travels thru Northern Michigan (not so much downstate). The democrat party and its politicians and other leftist entities are very proactive in providing "press releases" to local papers. Often times, the papers are happy to pass it along in their publications. This is a giant hole that the MIaGOP and other right entities are missing IMO.
