for expressing such thoughts. Although I think 731 should disqualify Allen. But to the larger point....

I think whoever runs in that district needs to have fire in the belly. The democrats are not going to give the district up easily and the Repubican candidate is going to need to carry a big huge stick and never ever be afraid to close and duke it out. I think that would bring money pouring in to keep the battle going. I think it will highlight the district nationwide and it could be in a positive manner too, if played right. I'd bet the Stupak machine is licking its wounds and dying to kick butt.

IMO, there are a couple of things missing in this race. I've been away from Michigan assisting my extended family thru a difficult time elsewhere so maybe I'm wrong but...the MIGOP appears to be MIa as usual. Beneshik seems like a good conservative man when I've been able to hear him speak, but he seems too soft spoken. The FreeRepublic Michigan forum has jumped on his bandwagon, and you never want to be on the wrong side of any position they are supporting </sarcasm>. Realistically one has to ask, can Beneshik win?

Dale Sheltrown is a formidable opponent if he's the one. He's been on the right side of issues that the voters in that district could easily support. There are too many people there who claim to be Republicans (squishy at best) who can easily proclaim, "He seems like he knows what he's doing." just like they did with good ole Bart.

    Just my $.02.
