    the exception to the rule..

Mind you I am not fully schooled on what technology is used, so for this I rely on much Nat Geo shows, discovery chan etc.. but..

It seems the government involvement and lack of diversity in design has streamlined their construction and operation.  Technicians need only be trained in one environment and could operate any one of the twenty or so in operation.

Nuclear is a clean option, but has an exceptionally toxic byproduct.  Managed properly, with adequate storage facilities (like a mountain that has already been prepared for such a use) the waste can be stored indefinitely.

Of course the same guy who wants you to paint your roof white to "solve" global warming has said the up to now designated storage site is "unworkable."

In the meantime, while they ponder their navels wondering what to do with a storage concern AT THE PLANTS that exist, we again find ourselves wondering why a perfectly safe environment would be rejected.

I am against the subsidies.  Let nuclear technology compete even up against other technologies so that the free market can find the best solution.

    Coal, baby!  Coal!
