. . . you've not done your homework on this issue.  Apparently you're content to just troll around looking for an argument.

    No problem.

First, given that your bombast betrays a Libertarian bent (I happen to be a member in good standing of the Libertarian Party of West Michigan), I'm wondering if you've read the books by Neal Boortz (another faithful Libertarian) that make the case, very effectively, for the national initiative.

Second, I'm going to have you check both of my essays posted elsewhere on this site.  They're under the title of "Continuing to Beat the Fair Tax Drum" that will come up on a Google search.  I have other essays planned, but I've been interrupted of late by this thing called a job.  Read them, then respond here like you actually know what you're talking about.

Third, as I've posted before on this site (and you would know this if you've bothered to pay attention) the prebate is something that every legal citizen gets, but by its very structure provides its greatest benefit to the poorest among us.  The prebate also, by design, locks the illegal aliens and foreign tourists out of the system, other than being required to pay a sales tax like everyone else.  You got a problem with giving every legal citizen an identical break?

Fourth, just in case you hadn't noticed, we have a "flat tax" system now . . . how's it working out for you?  The system was originally flat when it was introduced in 1913, and reforms under Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan re-flattened it each time.  However, an ugly truth of any income-based taxation scheme is that it is based on the taxation scheme of The Communist Manifesto, which dictates a heavy and progressive income tax as being necessary to impose Marx & Engels vision of socialist utopia upon any free people.  Inherently by its very nature, any income-based taxation will mutate into a progressive model, no matter how flat is is in the beginning.

Fifth, you might want to get a clue as to what Socialism actually is before you start a battle of wits with me . . . because it's been my experience that wayyy to many people throw that term around without understanding what it really means.
