I do believe that is a viable third alternative.  

On the other point, I never accused Farrah of doing anything wrong.  And I won't.  

But an inherent conflict of interest DOES exist.  Take the personalities away.  Take away this particular rep and think of it in generalities.  It's scary.

And just because in this case it's with an elected official everyone (including me) believes to be of relatively high personal moral character doesn't mean that it isn't a precidnet that we must avoid setting now and forever.

Now, you talk as if I'm leading noisy protests outside Farrah's home.  I'm doing no such thing.  I've spoken my mind on this (as folks are want to do on their blogs) and I do and will stand by it.  I will not be launching a recall Barb Farrah campaign.  

I think the debate over the law is a good one to have and I'd be encouraged if folks would engage it.  But the fact that it's something that even my friends on the left would consider worth discussing indicates that this is a potentially serious issue.
