The governing class backs us into corners (none / 0) (#1)

I was one of those who believed for years the old William F. Buckley approach, essentially you vote for the most conservative candidate. Buckley might have been right back in the day, but people like Snyder have cured me of that. The governing class sees us an ATM, nothing more.

And, Kerry Bentivolio has just about cured me of him......tea & crumpets with John Oprah Boner indeed.

    I had actually expected the (1.00 / 1) (#2)

'establishment' to stuff the voting for Snyder..

So far they are not doing so hot.

Good to see that to the time of this comment, no one has gone so far as to click on the Schauer radio button.  Integrity is still worth something.

    Erick Erickson (Red State) published . . . (5.00 / 1) (#5)
by Kevin Rex Heine on Wed Aug 14, 2013 at 09:36:52 AM EST
. . . an interesting article last week regarding this general concept.  As was pointed out in commentary elsewhere last week, the party elites are going to spend the primary phase of the 2014 election cycle doubling down on stupid by digging in and actively attacking the party's base (a.k.a., the liberty-minded grassroots network).  The bluebloods aren't going to care about the collateral carnage that they cause, as long as they get to hang on to their positions of power.

I agree with Mr. Erickson, in that there's no good reason for us to hold our noses and support incumbents.  We should be willing to primary incumbents who've fallen out of love with their constituencies and in love with Washington (or Lansing, or whatever the state capitol is in question).  We should not be afraid to reject them in primaries. In fact, until we start collecting a few choice scalps on our own trophy wall, the party elites will neither respect us nor fear us.

Forty percent of all available state and federal seats next year, and take no prisoners in the process.
