Ever since the CD-11 kakistocracy has had their collective backsides handed to them during the last election, they have been scrambling for someone "more mainstream" to run in the next election.
It should also be noted that Mr. Trott also has a few skeletons in his closet.
His political donations might not mean as much as Brooks & Co. would hope when some of them come to light.
So, his/their choices are:
a.) Come up with some very damning evidence of Rep. Bentivolio NOT adhering to the Constitution he swore to uphold along with his own party's stated platform.
b.) Arrogantly continue forward while preparing for an even larger collective migraine than when their last star chamber chosen candidate got trounced.
c.) Ditch this chip they have on their collective shoulder, think of their "family", and focus on other races where resources can be better spent for a change.
