First, neither the linked poll referenced in my previous comment nor the sidebar poll all the way back up in the original article purport to be statistically sound, (regardless of how difficult we've made them to manipulate).  They're an interesting discussion starter, but that's about it.

Second, I happen to have taken a semester of Statistical Analysis as part of my Business Administration degree.  Aced it, for the record.  Between my college education and my practical experience at StratNat, I'm well aware of what's involved in properly structuring a poll and why firms like Rasmussen and Mitchell can charge what they charge to conduct such surveys.
