A post this well researched and delivered deserves a comment or two and this is a comment on what the article caused to pop into my sniffling head. I'm sorry if this is a bit scattered.
Conservatives have ceded two too-important to cede professions to the left: academia and (what was once called) objective journalism.
These professions which, oddly, once were considered purveyors of facts, must turn decidedly back toward their ideals of purpose if this country ever has a chance of righting itself.
A three year old possesses all the emotional capacity necessary to adopt the Democrat world view, but it takes years of intellectual development to reach the conservative epiphany. Yet, before a three year old ever reaches adulthood, he has been educated by a profession indoctrinated in leftist dogma and exposed to its popular culture by a media that encourages the stretching of cultural norms.
While Joe Biden is thanking cable news for its assistance in forwarding the gun-control agenda, a network news reporter cements the leftist viewpoint on gay marriage with an interview of her five year old daughter. As an NPR analyst spends five minutes discussing the various right-wing tea party type extremist groups that might be responsible for the Boston bombing, a Salon columnist projects that conservatives are hoping beyond hope that the bomber isn't Caucasian.
Yet, as we speak, a Caucasian nail-packing bomb maker from Obama's old Chicago neighborhood teaches the next generation of America haters that America deserves, as a society, the hatred and violence wielded against it. His academic position is today so non-controversial that Obama's presidential campaign was launched, to the media's delight, in the terrorist's living room over chilled wine and cheese.
It has taken fifty years for America's educational system and mass media industry to fall under leftist control. It would not have to take so long to get them into conservative hands if the conservative movement made it a priority to do so.
