Certain 'constants' are presented as immovable unchangeable realities.  The false choices start there.  

The newly elected politician is told what he cannot do, and is not given a complete set of options.  So the cycle of abuse is continued without interruption.

Occassionally, you will get someone like Hoogendyk, Agema, or McMillan, who are folks that understand there is LIFE outside the cage that is provided for uninformed legislators.  They understand there are choices that stronger influences might not want taken.

We have to find the types who understand core principles and are not afraid to lose in their pursuit of impressing those principles.
