I know there is a school of thought that money does not matter in these races, and provides a perfectly good excuse to be negligent in promoting them.

Michigan is a blue state with regard to Reblican vs. Democrat hard count, and should be expected by default to go blue without explaining why a candidate is a better choice to those who don't know the candidate.

Cash is EVERYTHING when trying to spread familiarity and present a candidate.  The efforts of each of the candidates is worth very little if they are not reaching out at the very least in an introductory manner, and inspiring curiosity.  Default was not an option and opportunities were missed.
