      Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

      I remember back when I-375 was being constructed (none / 0) (#3)

      and there was an attempt to get away from "low cost bidder" construction techniques.  The roadbed would be thicker and the concrete would be better.  Wonder what happened?  Seems nothing ever came of that and a "rebuilt" road require significant repairs within a few years.

      But let's assume that higher quality roads are not the objective here.  Perhaps the objective is full employment of road repair crews.  It's a minor inconvenience to truckers and tourists.  They can do what we did last summer when I-94 at Benton Harbor was essentially shut down... change routes by 60 miles.

      After all, it does insure the future of our children.  Most of them will be working on road crews instead of collecting unemployment.
