      Other people busted out stats. I've prefered arguing with logic more than stats (see this as an example).

      In re the scholarly endeavour - indeed, writing a speech that fits within 3 minutes is not easy, especially given the complexity of things that could be addressed. Tack on that you have someone who is not a speech writer, and you get the above.

      With that said, there was a kid who spoke and started jumping into the actual statute. Sure as shit, he's going to law school. I'm not knocking the kid, but HIS speech was scholarly.
